a little love!

I wanted to share some goodies that I received for my favorite holiday, Valentine's Day! The day of love is also my birthday... so these treats were extra special to me!

Cheree Berry sent the most beautiful Valentine's Day card I've ever received and a. favorite design sent a very sweet letterpressed typography love card. I received a copy of Compendium's new 2 book... which is a really great and enjoyable book to share with another person. Great for my favorite holiday! Simplesong sent over some sweet tidings... my fave... macaroons! And Angelica, our graphic designer gave me a king sized candy bar wrapped in a homemade wrapper... with another favorite of mine... a cameo silhouette.

jsonline: handmade cards

We're featured today in Milwaukee's Journal Sentinel. The article explains that handmade cards still hold appeal to people... especially for Valentines Day! This is quite an exciting article for us and for the handmade world!

Our Operation Heartfelt event was featured as well as our guest vendor Mollie from La Familia Green. You can read more about the article here.

operation heartfelt recap

Our Operation Heartfelt event this past weekend was a huge hit! We had lots of fun. There were tons of little kiddies in the store and it felt so great to have a family vibe here! There were a ton of cards made and a ton of cupcakes eaten! It couldn't have went any better!

Mollie from La Familia Green stopped by and made three limited edition designs just for us! All three are Milwaukee themed and they'll be up on the webstore soon. We had a great time with her... and it was so great to see her using her gocco in person!

I am hoping our event will make our troops feel loved this Valentines Day and I'm pretty sure they will! Here are some photos of the event:

All of the valentines were mailed today and I would personally like to wish everyone in the military a Happy Valentines Day. Thank you to everyone who participated in Operation Heartfelt!

operation heartfelt

We have an event this Saturday that is not to be missed! We have so many festivities planned, I can hardly keep them all straight! You can write a valentine (we'll be providing the paper) to someone in the military and you'll receive 20% off all greeting cards.
Broadway Paper will post and send all valentines for no charge.

Also, guest vendor La Familia Green will be here from Chicago to give a card making demonstration. We love La Familia Green, they always come up with really great designs and ideas for their cards. Plus, they are extremely environmentally friendly and they give a percentage of all sales to support local no-kill animal shelters in Chicago.

We couldn't be happier having them! Oh and I've heard that they will be debuting a new Milwaukee themed stamp just for our event! All supplies will be provided and it'll be a great time!

If that isn't enough to entice you to stop by on Saturday, maybe cupcakes will be! The fantastic Milwaukee Cupcake Company will be here with samples of all of their latest and greatest cupcakes. I simply cannot wait!

After your card making and cupcake eating, stay to learn about heart health with The American Heart Association while listening to the jazzy sounds of Informal Blues, a jazz band from Milwaukee's High School of The Arts. We really hope to see you here Saturday for some card making, cupcakes, heart education, and jazz!
