big white yeti candles

We love Big White Yeti candles!  This is a new product we just started selling in the store and we are so excited to share them with you!  Big White Yeti is a local company in the Bay View neighborhood of Milwaukee.

Each candle is hand poured and made with natural soy, pure fragrance oils and cotton wicks.  And, if that isn't enough, they look and smell amazing too!  Some of their original scents include grass stain, mountain man and wild hydrangea.

gallery night :: jessica yocherer

Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward's Gallery Night is this weekend! We're super excited since we have a very talented and unique artist exhibiting here-- and her artwork involves paper!

Although she only recently began showing her work publically, Jessica Yocherer has been creating collages for as long as she can remember.

In her most recent collection entitled Inevitable Coalescence, Jessica explores the relationship between who she sees herself to be and how the influence of others can so easily change that perception. How does one remain confident in who they are while still letting other people into their lives? She feels that although this personality shift is a completely natural occurrence, there are times when it not only feels unnatural, but an unnerving loss of believed control.

Jessica is currently a junior at Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, where she is studying art therapy and philosophy. She also works at the Milwaukee Art Museum as a Youth and Family Programs Assistant. Jessica presently resides in Milwaukee. Please stop by to view Jessica's beautiful work this weekend during Gallery Night and Day!

letters to santa

We just received word from Santa Claus that he would like to receive pretty letters from children in Milwaukee! We'll be providing stationery and postage for your darling tot (or yourself) to write Santa about their wishes and desires. Bring your family to Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward tonight for the 24th annual Christmas in the Ward and start out at Broadway Paper and write a letter to Santa!

If you're unable to come down tonight for the Historic Third Ward festivities, be sure to stop in to Broadway Paper to write your letter prior to December 9th. We'll be sending all letters to the North Pole so that Santa Claus will have plenty of time to write his response.

fantasy house :: 2012

This year we helped decorate the American Cancer Society 2012 Christmas Fantasy House. This is our third year participating and the twentieth anniversary of the Christmas Fantasy House. You can view our beautiful decorated candy fantasy library from our first year here and here you can view our gorgeous outdoor lodge library from our second year.

Every year it is very important for us to make our decorations by hand, display our own merchandise, and decorate with found/re-claimed or USA made items. This year we decided to decorate the entire room with handmade decorations. In total, we used 52 recycled boxes (all from holiday shipments), 48 rolls of wrapping paper, recycled wrapping paper tubes, countless glue gun sticks and double sided tape. We used Waste Not Paper roll wrap in blossom, chartreuse, fuchsia, paper bag, sage, and strawberry.

Over the past twenty years, the American Cancer Society 2012 Christmas Fantasy House has raised more than $2 million dollars and has raised cancer awareness across the metro Milwaukee area. We are so proud to be connected with such an amazing, local organization. If you missed this year's Fantasy House, don't worry, the handmade paper tree and all of our other paper decorations are now on view right here at Broadway Paper! To view more photos of our room, please visit our Facebook album.
