We have two very exciting events coming up at Broadway Paper! This Friday evening and Saturday we will be participating in Gallery Night. And the Neighborhood Social is right around the corner next Tuesday!
Gallery Night is the premier art event in Milwaukee and the whole Historic Third Ward neighborhood turns into a neighborhood of art and passion! Broadway Paper will be hosting two wonderful and amazing artists for Gallery Night.
Mary Sievert and Chelsea Atwell will be displaying their exhibit Flowers Personified. Both ladies are local and very familiar with the neighborhood since they are recent graduates from MIAD.
Mary was an illustration major pursuing freelance work and children's book illustration. She currently lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Chelsea was a communication design major pursuing art direction and typography. Enjoys working with paper and found objects. She currently lives in Milwaukee.
We couldn't be more excited to host these two fabulous young + talented artists!
Next Tuesday is the next Neighborhood Social! You might remember the previous Social as the Merchant Social... we've recently changed the name, but everything else will be the same! This upcoming Social will be held at Water Buffalo. Fingers crossed for warm weather! You can read all about the Neighborhood Social here.
So remember, if you live, work, or just simply love the Third Ward... then this is a must-attend event for you! Come for giveaways, tasty food, and great people to chat with!
We hope to see you at Gallery Night this weekend and the Neighborhood Social next Tuesday!

the FOUND
One of my all time favorite card companies just debuted a new line and I'm so excited to share it with you! the FOUND recently debuted their new Matchbox line. This is their fourth line in addition to their Busted, Americana, and Newsprint lines. the FOUND is based out of Chicago and is inspired by a collection of found ephemera... they re-discover items and re-invent and re-purpose them. And they do a great job at it!
My personal matchbox favorite is their Yee Haw Horse. The inside greeting reads, "Hey lucky, It's your birthday." Pretty great, I'd say!
Their re-discovered, re-invented, and re-purposed inspired products can be found here (no pun intended!).

wood paper
Have you ever heard of a thing called wood paper? We have! Our wood paper is made five hours from Milwaukee, in a little town called Spooner, Wisconsin.
Not only is this paper great since it is wood paper but, the company that manufactures the paper has some really great beliefs and practices. To begin with, chemicals are not used in manufacturing the wood paper; only water is used to make the paper and there is no wood waste from their process.
Also, the logs used for the paper have not been cut down intentionally for this process. In fact, when a tree is harvested it is divided up and distributed to several different wood manufacturing businesses such as plank lumber, furniture, cabinetry and of course paper, which leaves about 10% of the tree for veneer manufacturing.
Even though the company only uses 10% of the tree, they plant a tree for each log we use to create the wood paper. So when you buy our wood paper, you also plant a tree and help sustain and improve our national forest. How great is that?
The wood paper can be embossed, converted into packaging, die cut, laser cut, silk screened, and even printed through your desktop printer. It's really easy to work with and turns out fabulous through your very own printer!
We carry four different kinds of wood paper. We have a thin and thick cherry as well as a thin and thick birch in stock. We carry sheets of 8.5 x 11 and also larger sheets of 24 x 30, though any size sheets are able to be ordered.
Go green and think about using wood paper for your next big event... You can peek at our selection of wood papers here.
