weekend greetings!

In a land of contests and giveaways, I decided to start one of my very own! I've got a whole lotta lurkers out there reading this very post, this very minute ... and I've decided I want to hear from you!

So how's this going to work? Every Friday, I will feature one of my favorite greeting cards, and all you have to do is comment telling me who you would send it to and why. I will pick one worthy commenter and send it out to you! Fun, no?

This week's greeting is from PearlMarmalade. We found them at the NSS in May and they've got some pretty cool greetings ... take a look!

I would send this to my best friend Molly in LA because I REALLY miss my Molly and me time nowadays. Life, boyfriends, other friends and family all take over. It's her 30th birthday on August 10and I'm surprising her. Can't wait!

the person who comes to my mind, is an easy one....brett, my son, who is in the army stationed in maryland. although he will be home for labor day, so i only have about 2 more months of missing him :)

I would send this card to my best friend in Washington DC. She shares my stationary obsession (we hope to open our own store someday) and would definitely appreciate it. I miss her a ton and wish we could spend more time together. We correspond and talk on the phone regularly, but life just isn't the same without your best girl friend around. :)

I would send this to my cousin in London. She had llamas who always spit, but never at her. She would get a royal kick out of this card!

I would send this to my illustrator and animal-lover friend, Jen who has a quirky sense of humor and would get a kick out of it.

I enjoy your blog and your store!

This is so random but I would send it to my pharmacist. I have been going to Maggie to have my perscriptions filled for the past 7 years. She had advice for taking prenatal vitamins when I was pregnant, to administering Tylenol to a teething baby, to mixing custom flavors for my toddler with an ear infection, to explaining how a nebulizer works when my daughter was released from the hospital after being on a ventilator, to explaining the side effects of medication used to treat my cancer. We moved from Orange County to Houston 2 weeks ago and I had my husband fill one last prescription for me tonight before he left California to join us here in Houston tomorrow. He told Maggie that we had moved and she began to cry because we hadn't said goodbye to her. I feel terrible about it and I decided to write her a letter tonight thanking her for her kindness and compassionate service. I checked your blog and low and behold I read this post. So that's who I would write a card too. I like your selection because it conveys the sentimentality of missing someone but the llama gives it enough humor to keep it light.

PS I LOVE your blog, it feeds my paper/stationary fetish.

I would definitely send this card to my mom. We live states away and it has been a few months since I have seen her. This card is right up her alley. In fact, before I even read the post I looked at the card and instantly thought of my mom. I love your blog. It is my little creative inspiration every day.
